emergency-dental-care

Dealing with a toothache is a very stressful situation as it is one of the worst kinds of pain. We at Pure Dental Care understand this and we have several options to get you seen as soon as possible during a dental emergency.

During surgery opening hours

If you are registered NHS or private patient at the practice you will be able to benefit from our emergency appointment services, please call the surgery as early as you can and we will aim to see you within 24 hours.

 Out of surgery hours

If you are experiencing a dental emergency out of the surgery hours, you can still telephone the practice to get more information on what to do via a recorded message.

NHS out-of-hours or emergency dental care

NHS out of hours are always available whether you are registered with a dentist or not.

At all other times, please call NHS Direct on 111 or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk From 1st April 2013, emergency and out-of-hours NHS dental care will cost you £18. You will not have to pay for emergency or out-of-hours care if you're entitled to free NHS dental treatment. NHS fees are payable, subject to certain exemptions, for all work undertaken at evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Proof of exemption needs to be provided.

Non registered patients

If you are not registered with any dentist or visiting from abroad and are finding it difficult in getting an appointment to be seen by a dentist, we offer on the day, private, emergency appointments. You can call the practice and a member of our team will be happy to assist you in booking an emergency appointment as soon as possible. Emergency patients can benefit from

1. On the day/next day appointment
2. No registration needed
3. One off emergency fee of £45 for emergency appointments!
Our emergency fee is payable at the time of making the emergency appointment, if in person by cash or any major debit/credit cards which can also be taken over the phone when calling the practice. Only once payment has been made, can the emergency appointment be booked and confirmed.
The emergency fee is for the appointment; where you can assure that our dentist will do whatever treatment necessary to take you out of pain for no additional cost.

EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

Emergency appointments are booked for a small period of time, enough to do whatever is necessary to take patients out of pain, but not long enough to carry out extensive treatments. Additional appointments would need to be booked after the initial emergency appointment depending on the dentist advises. If the solution is for a course of antibiotics or any prescriptive medicines, the dentist will write out the sufficient prescription which can then be taken to any pharmacy and be collected, again if there is any treatment that is required after this it can be booked after the initial emergency appointment.

(Care/advice at home)
If you're in discomfort, you can first try helping yourself by taking painkillers. If you feel the problem can wait until normal practice hours, you can call NHS Direct on 111 for advice about treating yourself.
